Structural Chiropractic Defined
So, what, then, is Structural Chiropractic? We want you to understand how we are different. So, we’ll first look at what ‘traditional chiropractic’ is.
Traditional Chiropractic
Traditional chiropractors have three main goals:
1. Decrease muscular spasm
2. Increase range of motion
3. Reduce pain
This is how most chiropractors practice. We believe most traditional chiropractors are dedicated to quality outcomes. The traditional approach, however, falls under the category of symptom relief.
Structural Chiropractic
Structural Chiropractic is different in that the objective is to correct a primary problem in the spinal structure of the body – the Structural Shift.
A building needs a strong, secure foundation. Without it, the building will have significant problems. And, these problems will get worse over time. Your body needs a strong foundation, too. Without it, you will have problems. The problems are commonly called ‘symptoms‘. But they are more accurately described as ‘Secondary Conditions’ because they are caused by something else – the Structural Shift.
If your body has significant structural problems, a focused, structural approach is required. There are specialists who do structural work on building foundations. There are also chiropractors who do structural work on your foundation. Structural problems require structural solutions.
Rather than constantly repairing damage, at Specific Chiropractic, we’ve chosen to fix the underlying foundation and help your spine reach Normal Structure.
Of course, our services aren’t for everyone. Be honest with yourself: if your goals don’t include addressing the root cause, we can recommend other professionals who will help your pain. Structural correction requires time and effort. We don’t provide a quick fix answer to a longstanding problem. That wouldn’t be honest.
If you are tired of constantly patching the problem, then our office may be the right place for you. If you’re looking for a long term solution that you can both feel and see for yourself, then our office may be the right place for you. And, once the foundation has been fixed, then we’ll teach you how to keep it that way.
